Peptide Radioligands
Chelators like DTPA, DOTA, DOPA, NOTA, NODAGA, and HYNIC are often attached to the N-terminus of peptides, but can also be linked to the internal or C-terminus via an inserted lysine. These chelator-peptide complexes form stable associations with metal ions, facilitating their attachment for therapeutic or diagnostic applications.
DTPA
Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) is a useful chelating agent for radionuclides such as (68)Ga, (99m)Tc and (111)In, which are applicable to nuclear medicine imaging.

DOTA
Metal complexes of DOTA (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid)-peptide conjugates are increasingly used as targeted imaging and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals and MRI contrast agents.
